Production of and access to reliable information is a major\, yet overlooked\, pre-condition for women to play their full part in sustainable development. \nThis session will explore the link between gender\, media and development in an African context. \nMedia organisations have considerable power to shape a society’s experience of gender equality by reporting upon the realities of women and girls’ lives and providing them with a platform to be heard. The debate aims to introduce innovative approaches and solutions to increase female participation and representation in all forms of media in Africa and beyond.
